The Post-Covid Entertainment Rules

The Post-Covid Entertainment Rules

And Not Forgetting The Office Dog!

I read an interesting article in The Telegraph here this morning. It amused me hugely as rule number 5 is as follows:

5. Including all the dogs
Everyone has a dog and it’s very young, so it’s coming too.”

I will admit we have attended a few outdoor parties recently and yes, I can confirm the trend toward posh food, good wine and including the dogs too! If we are outside it is a wonderful trend, and Ellie, who loves parties, says long may it continue.

We have even been asked when we arrive: “Where’s Ellie? We thought you were bringing her!”

Just goes to prove that all is not wrong in a post-covid society. After a time when for many of us who are fortunate enough to share our lives with a canine companion, we have forged stronger bonds with our beloved friends. The thought of leaving them out of our social life, especially outside, seems inconceivable now.

They have reassured us, kept us on schedule with their meal times, and most importantly made sure even the worst couch potato has been co-erced into walkies by a wagging tail and pleading eyes. To live as normal a life as possible, even if it is on their terms.

Dogs are even making it into the (real) office in greater numbers too. Whilst Ellie is not only our office dog, but our publisher (shame she doesn’t make the coffee), and always has been, the rise of pooch adoption and even puppy purchases has put pressure on employers to accept a new breed of office worker.

I read only this morning of a wonderful story of a Legal Labrador who deals out justice in France:

The top benefits of dogs in the workplace are described here:

The advent of the dog in the workplace reduces stress, brings teams together, encourages healthy living, increases productivity and means they aren’t home alone (so you are less likely to return to the house being trashed and the kitchen ransacked!

All this certainly gives us Paws for Thought!
