Anger As A Tool For Change

Anger can be our friend; it be harnessed as used as fuel for facing up to what is wrong and setting to redeem ourselves from the life we do not want to lead. Anger is best not pacified with drink or drugged into the stupor of denial, but recognised, opened and examined.

Anger can be justified if it is merited and used wisely. It can be the alchemy of change, the gold in the seam of the rocks of despair. It can ripple out into action, then goodness, and become the bedrock of a new approach, and an acceptance of what we could not, would not recognise. And then anger can turn to understanding, not forgetfulness, but a forgiveness, of self. For when you see the bigger picture and you realise that there were forces at work that you did not see, feelings and emotions that you did not appreciate, then anger transmutes to understanding and transcendence.

In that transcendence comes the miracle of new life. From the darkness of the despair that you will never be loved, you learn to love yourself, for the first time. Like a baby you learn to crawl, then stand, then walk toward a new life where you are you, not trying to be loved, because you are loved, by the one person who never loved you: yourself.

With the anger you removed the arrow of hurt, with the understanding you tended to the damaged hurt, with the forgiveness you let a new world in.
